As it happens to be, the aircraft I completed the majority of RA-Aus flying training aboard at Gladstone is based at Maryborough Airport, a 25 minute drive from Hervey Bay, so needless to say, was the obvious choice to be our set-of-wings for the occasion.
Having pre-arranged to private hire the aircraft, Luke and I arrived at Maryborough Airport shortly after 6am on a Wednesday, and although the aircraft had been re-positioned from a hangar for our taking, required a daily / pre-flight check before leaving terra-firma.
For the flight which included taking in the sights of Maryborough, Hervey Bay and surrounding area, Luke was to all-to-happy to be the onboard photographer, so after giving him some 'pointers' the previous evening, it was up to him to 'snap-away' with the camera while I maintained vigilance at the controls. As you can see in the photo's below, Luke was handy with the camera.
In this post, we take a look at Maryborough township and surrounding area including Mary River while another post to appear shortly features Hervey Bay / Fraser Coast.
