RAAF Boeing 737-700 (BBJ) A36-001 visits Rockhampton for Beef Week 2015

Presumably carrying Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot and entourage aboard, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Boeing 737-7DT BBJ (Boeing Business Jet) A36-001 made an evening arrival at Rockhampton on Thursday, May 07.

After a short period on the ground, A36-001 departed the beef capital for Brisbane before returning to Rockhampton on Friday, May 08. It appears the RAAF BBJ then travelled further north to Cairns a short while later.

Boeing Business Jets are primarily 737 airframes (although other Boeing models are available) incorporating modifications that include the fitment of facilities such as conference suites, tables and seats aswell as secure satellite and communication capabilities.

Additionally, other enhancements include blended winglets for improved fuel economy, self-contained stairs and additional fuel tanks to allow intercontinental range.
