Seair Pacific - Theodore operations

It was of interest to learn sometime ago that Gold Coast Airport based Seair Pacific operates an almost daily air service from the Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast to the small Central Queensland community of Theodore under contract by Australian gold company, Evolution Mining, to provide a FIFO operation for it's workforce at nearby Cracow Mine.

Created in 2011 to form a mid-tier Australian gold producer after the merger of Catalpa Resources Ltd and Conquest Mining Ltd aswell as the concurrent acquisition of Newcrest Mining’s interests in the Cracow and Mt Rawdon mines - Evolution mining operates five, wholly owned gold and silver mines in Queensland and Western Australia.

Mining gold and silver, much of the workforce at Cracow Mine is reportedly Fly-in / Fly-out (FIFO) staff and are transported to and from the region by Seair Pacific Cessna 208 Caravans.

A typical service will see one or occasionally two Cessna Caravan's touchdown at Theodore Aerodrome from the Gold Coast / Brisbane / Sunshine Coast at approximately 0830 hrs and remain parked at the airport before returning to south-east Queensland at approximately 1340 hrs.
