Planespotting from Aldinga Airfield with Phil Munsel Photography (pt.2)

As reported in part one, Phil Munsel Photography of Rockhampton recently returned from a family holiday to South Australia, and while exploring the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, took an opportunity to enjoy some planespotting at Aldinga Airfield.

To continue with our three-part post focussing on some of the sightings captured by Phil during his time at Aldinga Airfield, here are more up-n-close photo's of aircraft only moments before landing on the narrow bitumen runway.

Of interest, Phil made a special mention about Adelaide Biplanes and a lovely little cafĂ© that serves great coffee amongst other offerings :

Planespotting from Aldinga Airfield with Phil Munsel Photography (pt.1)

Well known and respected planespotter from Rockhampton, Phil Munsel Photography, recently returned from a family holiday to South Australia, and while taking time-out from the rigors of every day life, enjoyed some planespotting at Aldinga Airfield located on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula.

While Aldinga Airfield is a long distance away from the usual coverage of aviation news, movements and reviews in Central Queensland and the Fraser Coast, Phil has kindly invited us to share some of his truly magnificent planespotting adventures while visiting the southern state.

To begin, check-out these brilliant pics captured of Piper PA-18-150 Super Cub VH-FHC only moments before landing on the narrow airstrip at Aldinga. And if you like these photo's, stay tuned for more from Phil over coming days.

Skyline Aviation Beechcraft Beechjet 400A / Nextant 400TXi ZK-NXJ visits Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay planespotter Ben May was on hand to capture the arrival of a very rare visitor to Hervey Bay / Fraser Coast Airport on Tuesday, March 22, in the form of New Zealand based Skyline Aviation Beechcraft Beechjet 400A / Nextant 400TXi ZK-NXJ, which reportedly dropped off a patient to a local ambulance.

Of interest, this very sleek looking jet touched down at Hervey Bay Airport at 1.30pm from Dunedin, New Zealand via Coolangatta / Gold Coast for Customs. The aircraft had earlier flown from Auckland to Dunedin.

Generally, we would take the time to research the history of an unfamiliar aircraft type and share the learnings, however, as time is limited on this occasion, thought we would instead provide a link about the development of the Beechcraft Beechjet which was originally designed as the Mitsubishi MU-300 Diamond : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawker_400

After an overnight stay at Hervey Bay, Beechcraft Beechjet 400A / Nextant 400TXi ZK-NXJ departed back to Auckland, New Zealand on Wednesday, March 23, but not before another Customs clearance at Coolangatta / Gold Coast Airport.
